Cruise Ship Detail Information

This table describes the incidence of Gastrointestinal Illness (GI) on a cruise ship for the stated calendar year. The annual average percentage rate of GI on the cruise ship is calculated by utilizing cruise ship 'self-reported' voyage data from the Centers for Disease Control. Ships are required to provide this information when one or more segments of the voyage 'touches' a U.S. controlled port.

Cruise Data Excluded from these Studies

  • Voyage that terminate (disembark) in non-U.S. ports
  • Same day voyages (those without an overnight stay).
  • Voyages lasting more than 21 days if the CDC does not report them in their database.
